NOTICE OF ELECTIONS

ELECTION OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE MALDIVES CHESS ASSOCIATION – 2026 

The Maldives Chess Association (MCA) hereby announces that the election of its Executive Committee will be held on Tuesday, 10 November 2026.

The election follows the adoption of the amended MCA Statutes 2026 at the Extraordinary General Assembly held on 1 November 2026, marking an important step towards the reconstitution of the Association's elected governing body. 

Pursuant to Article 12.1 of the MCA Statutes 2026, the election will be conducted to fill the following nine (9) positions on the Executive Committee: 

1. President – 1 position 

2. Vice President – 1 position 

3. Vice President – 1 position 

4. Treasurer – 1 position 

5. Female Member – 1 position 

6. Club Members – 4 positions 

The elected Executive Committee will serve a term of four (4) years, in accordance with the MCA Statutes 2026. 

The election process will be administered and supervised by the MCA Ad Hoc Committee, exercising the functions of the Electoral Committee pursuant to the transitional provisions of Article 32 of the MCA Statutes 2026. 

Eligible candidates seeking election to the above positions are required to comply with the nomination procedures and eligibility requirements prescribed under the MCA Statutes 2026. All nominations must be submitted to the MCA Ad Hoc Committee Secretariat no later than 6:00 PM on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.
