POST: Financial Controller (FC)

WORK SITE:  MTDC Head Office, Male’, Maldives

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in support of its business and growth objectives.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and cash-flow optimisation.
• Conduct and oversee financial feasibility assessments for new projects, investments, business initiatives, and strategic opportunities, including financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, risk assessment, and return evaluation.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic financial advice to the Board and Executive Management, supporting informed business, investment, and capital allocation decisions.
• Oversee treasury, capital structure, funding, investments, and effective allocation of financial resources.
• Establish robust financial controls, risk management, governance frameworks, and compliance practices.
• Lead external audit, taxation, regulatory reporting, and relationships with auditors, regulators, investors, and financial institutions.
• Build and lead a high-performing finance function, driving accountability, operational efficiency, and long-term shareholder value. 

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and must be a qualified member of ACCA / CPA / CIMA or member of any professional accounting body recognized by IFAC
• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years of experience in financial and corporate reporting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience at a senior management level within a corporate environment.
• Sound knowledge in application of IFRS
• Proven experience in financial strategy, corporate finance, financial reporting, treasury, risk management, and governance.
• Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards, taxation, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance practices.
• Experience working with Boards, auditors, regulators, financial institutions, investors, and other key stakeholders.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insights into strategic business decisions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards. 

REMUNERATION: Negotiable depending on qualification and experience.
