Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Develop tentative and accurate cost estimates for projects, accounting for materials, labor and other relevant expenses. - Produce detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ), tailored to specific project requirements for both in-house and outsourced projects. - Assist and advise during procurement process and reconciliation of material for the in-house projects. - Provide cost insights to ensure the procurement of materials aligns with the project budget and objectives. - Conduct cost comparisons and evaluations to assess the financial implications and feasibility of different options or strategies during the project planning and formulation stage. - Analyze current market rates and create rate breakdowns to support project budgeting and cost planning. - Assess and evaluate bids/proposals from service providers, providing technical input to the procurement department for the selection of contractors or consultants if required. - Continuously refine cost estimation techniques and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. - Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks. - Formulate and revise related policies and procedures to enhance the section. |

Additional Skills & Specifications |
- Experience in designing, wiring, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of building electrical panels. Able to do URA required load calculations. -Should be familiar with relevant software such as Microsoft Office package and AutoCAD. -Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and specifications. - Knowledge and experience in CAD Mechanical, MS Project, Hevacomp Mechanical, SewerCAD, WaterCAD or any other computer aided engineering and designing software. - Should possess project management and planning skills. - Should be able to prioritize tasks and manage one's own time effectively. - Proactive, highly motivated and flexible. - Should be well organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. - Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.

Duties and Responsibilities
|
- Design and plan to build services systems (MEP and/or HVAC) using specialist CAD software and other resources, ensuring compliance with project requirements and engineering standards. - Negotiate and develop project contracts, liaise with clients, and manage tender processes. - Prepare electrical load calculations, pressure loss calculations, shop drawings, and as-built drawings. - Review and approve building services systems, including MEP and HVAC fittings, for quality and compliance. - Test installations and systems, analyze performance data, and oversee commissioning activities. - Organize, supervise, and assess contractor performance to ensure timely and quality delivery. - Manage and forecast costs using life cycle costing techniques, ensuring budgets are met and energy efficient systems are implemented. - Supervise system installations and define maintenance and operating procedures. - Monitor building systems and processes, making improvements where necessary. - Ensure all designs and maintenance plans comply with legislation, health and safety standards, and local regulations. - Advice on energy conservation, carbon footprint reduction, and sustainable building practices. - Liaise with utility providers for city-wide utility planning and implementation, including reviewing, approving, and updating utility network requirements. - Develop, publish, and update utility service guidelines; conduct research to integrate sustainability best practices. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health, safety, and government planning regulations.

Educational Qualification and Experience |
- Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field with minimum six (8) years of site experience in a relevant field; OR - Master’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field with minimum Four (6) years of site experience in a relevant field. |

Educational Qualification and Experience |
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day construction activities on site for assigned MPL projects. - Inspect works, verify setting out, levels, dimensions, and placements against approved drawings and specifications. - Confirm adherence to construction specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards by monitoring project progress and inspecting the construction site. - Examine construction materials on site and give approval or rejection as required, including witnessing sampling and testing. - Verify quantities of executed work to support interim payment certification and record measurements. - Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, photographs, and progress documentation. - Review method statements, shop drawings, and material submittals from the Contractor and provide comments. - Coordinate and communicate with the Contractor, MPL project team, and other internal and external stakeholders to successfully complete the given tasks/projects. - Identify defects, non-conformities, and emerging problems/deficiencies, and make recommendations or present solutions. - Attend site meetings and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports for MPL’s management. - Ensure proper documentation and quality control standards are always followed. |
