Job Responsibilities
|
- Responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel during his watch in accordance with Company's Shipboard Manuals
- Correction of all active Navigational Charts, Lists of Lights, Sailing Directions and Port information and the recording of such corrections in the Chart Correction Log
- The checking, maintenance, spare parts and proper care of all bridge and navigational equipment.
- Ascertaining the vessel's position at noon each day and submitting this information to the Master and Chief Engineer
- Presenting all Passage Planning to the Master for his discussion and approval
- Checking up on all voyage routing, the laying-off of courses, waypoints etc., as instructed by the Master
- Maintenance of proper watches in port and at sea, the supervision of personnel assigned to his watch in port/at sea and the proper recording of events, during his watch-keeping periods, in the Deck Logbook
- Ensuring the contents of the medicine chest is in good order, and any consumables are promptly replaced, re-filled and recorded in the Medicine Chest Logbook
- Second Officer must familiarize himself with the contents of all relevant manuals and procedures

Required Qualifications
|
- Valid Medical Certificate, Passport, CDC, COC, PSSR, EFA, MFA, PST, FPFF, SAT, SDSD, SSO, PSCRB, AOT
|
|
Preferred Requirements
|
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Valid Police Report
|
