Term of Contract: Initial contract shall be for a period of 1 (one) year. The contract shall be renewed as permanent based on performance upon successful completion of one year.

Job Description

 1.   Financial Accounting & Month-End Closing

  • Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring all transactions are posted within timelines and aligned with IFRS.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the accounting system.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records by reviewing trial balances and general ledger activity.
  • Monitor daily accounting operations, including revenue recognition, expense processing, and cash flow entries.

 2.   ERP & Systems Oversight

  • Ensure accuracy in automated financial postings and mappings from related operational modules (e.g., loan disbursements, collections, vendor payments).

 3.   Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare periodic financial statements and management accounts in accordance with IFRS.
  • Compile and submit regulatory filings including tax returns, MMA reports, and other reports.
  • Ensure timely publication of quarterly and annual reports as per internal and regulatory deadlines.
  • Monitor compliance with internal financial controls, accounting policies, and applicable laws.
  • Provide insights to the CFO and senior management on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.

 4.   Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews, ensuring timely submission of audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
  • Address audit queries and follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails in both physical and ERP environments.

 5.   Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts in collaboration with business units.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and report material variances with commentary.

 6.    Investment & Treasury Operations

  • Ensure investment and Borrowings registers and schedules are reconciled with relevant GL Accounts.
  • Track maturity schedules, expected returns, and ensure timely profit share payments.
  • Support treasury functions including cash position monitoring and fund allocation planning.

Job Requirements & other competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or ACCA applied Skills level or equivalent qualification in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the accounting field.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS.
  • Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

SalarySalary ranging from MVR 23,000 to MVR 25,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Working Hours: The selected candidate will be required to work from 08:00 to 16:00 hrs., from Sunday – Thursday.
