Job Responsibilities
|
- Preparing metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage
- Clean weld flux from assemblies and properly clamp parts into jigs or holding fixtures
- Should be familiar with all checklists relevant to the duties carried out in the engine department regarding special and critical operations, to maintain the highest possible level of safety
- Should be familiar with all equipment relevant to the performance of his duties, also including safety and emergency equipment and procedures
- Welding jobs on the deck and in the engine room
- Maintenance and repair work involving welding both on deck and in the engine room
- Should be certain that all work that he does is carried out in a safe and proper fashion
- Complete duties as per the Chief Engineer’s instruction during onboard service period or as instructed by the responsible technical superintendent

Required Qualifications
|
- Certificate level 3 in welding or a related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field
|
Preferred Requirements
|
- Good knowledge of machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs
- Valid Medical Certificate, CDC, PSSR, EFA, PST, FPFF, SAT, SDSD
|
