Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment onboard fleet vessels
• Routine maintenance of all electrical equipment, such as generators, motors, switchboards, automation, navigational equipment (when called for), cables and lighting fixtures
• Performing and recording of daily, weekly, monthly, 6 monthly and yearly routine and maintenance type work
• Maintaining and recording of spare parts stock.  Ordering of spares as necessary through the Chief Engineer during onboard service or through Technical Superintendents when serving at shore.
• He will be called upon for stand-by at any time as circumstances may require
• Tidiness and cleaning of electric workshop, battery rooms, converter room, battery room, etc. when serving onboard vessels.
• Where applicable, maintenance, repair and routine checking of cargo and stores cranes.  It is important to ensure proper crane functioning of all fleet vessels during port operation.
• Shore Electrician may have to sail onboard a vessel if required and report his work to the Chief Engineer when serving onboard and Technical Superintendent when serving ashore. 

Required Qualifications

• Certificate of Competency Electrician or Electro Technical Officer
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field

• Valid Passport (minimum six months prior to renewal)
• STCW Personal Survival Techniques
• STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
• STCW Elementary First Aid
• STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
• Proficiency in Security Awareness
• Proficiency in Designated Security Duties
