Assignment Title: Contract staff for further Development of National Bureau of Statistics Website

The Government of Maldives/National Bureau of Statistics has received financing from the World Bank under the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Statistical Capacity Building (TFSCB) toward the cost of Maldives Statistical Capacity Building Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for obtaining expertise knowledge through contracting out.

The expertise services (“the Services”) include further development of the current website incorporating more interactive features like availability of graphical tools to make data more attractive to a wide range of users at their fingertips.  Furthermore the currently developed website could be enhanced to make the website administration to be in more widely used languages.

Detailed description of tasks is provided in the Terms of Reference available at www.planning.gov.mv and www.statisticsmaldives.gov.mv .  The consultant will perform the tasks over a minimum period of 30 days, with the bulk of activities to be completed by 5 May, 2015. The expert is expected to be based at the National Bureau of Statistics.

The National Bureau of Statistics now invites eligible Individuals (“Experts”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Experts should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.

In particular, interested candidates must provide the following information that demonstrates they are qualified to perform the services:

1. Electronic/hard copy of up-to-date CV.
2. Relevant experience – description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc. based on the TOR.
3. Availability –earliest date of availability to begin work in the Maldives, as well as a general indication of the availability in future.

The selection will follow procedures set out in the current edition of World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers –January 2011(“Consultant Guidelines”).

A Consultant will be selected solely based on relevant experience and qualifications.
