Invitation for Bids

1. State Electric Company Pvt Ltd (STELCO) wishes to re-tender the Supply of 11nos. of Generator sets for Power House Upgrade Project Ref no: H-2014/124 dated 24.08.2014, as the received quotations do not comply with our Technical requirements.  This invitation for bid is opened for both local and international bidders. Bidders may quote for the following brands.

      -   Cummins

      -   Duetz

      -   Volvo

      -   Perkins

      -   Yanmar

2. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested and eligible Bidders from STELCO’s head office in Male’, from 30^th September 2014 to 19^th October 2014 between 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs on all working days, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of US$200.00(United States Dollars Two Hundred only) or equivalent in Maldivian Rufiyaa in cash or telegraphic transfer directly to our head office. Overseas Bidders shall pay additional US$50.00 (United States Dollars Fifty only) if they require the documents to be delivered to their mailing address.Documents shall be issued from 08^th October 2014 to 19^th October 2014 between 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs on all working days.

• Only Bidders who purchase the Bidding document can participate and thus the document is not transferable.

3. The Bid Validity shall be minimum Fifty (50) days from the date of Bid opening. All Bids shall be accompanied with a Bid Security of MVR 20,000.00 (Twenty Thousand Rufiyaa) or equivalent in United States Dollar, which is valid for 20 days beyond the validity of the bid. The Performance Security shall be 15% of the Bid Price. Bid Security and Performance Security shall be either a bank guarantee letter (as per the format in the bid document), bank certified cheque or bank draft.

4. A pre-bid meeting shall be held on Monday, 20^th October 2014at 11:00hrs local time at STELCO Head Office, 2^nd Floor meeting room.

5. All Bids shall reach STELCO head office on or before Wednesday, 29^th October 2014, at 11:00 hrs.

6. The Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelope and addressed as follows:

• STELCO shall not be liablefor the misplacement or premature opening for the unlabeled sealed Bids.

7. Bids shall be opened on Wednesday, 29^th October 2014, at 11:00 hrs, at STELCO Head Office, 2^nd Floor meeting room, in the presence of those Bidders or Bidder’s representatives who wish to attend the session.

8. - Important Note: It is in STELCO’s discretion to reject/cancel any bid which does not fulfil or comply the above terms, at anytime during the bid evaluation process. Also it is in STELCO’s discretion to cancel this invitation to bid at any time.
