Introduction

Male’ Water & Sewerage Company Pvt Ltd is an ISO and OHSAS Certified multi-disciplinary Engineering and Manufacturing organization mainly involves in providing Utility and Manufacturing related products and services to the Maldives.

On 14^th June 2022 (Ref: MWSC-L/3/ADV/2022/98) Invitation for the expression of interest was published with the desire to employ a contractor for the Construction of Tank Foundation for Two (2) No.s of 13,000 m3 Tanks in k. Male’. However, due to insufficient response to the invitation, we have decided to provide additional time to participate. Eligible and interested bidders are invited to apply based on the following information.

Scope of Work

The scope of the construction work includes:

• Site Mobilization and management (inclusive of sign boards, safety and health requirements, clean up, preparation of shop drawings and As Built drawings, submission of daily work reports).
• Drilling work for 8 no.s of 1000mm diameter boreholes upto depth of 15m from ground level per tank foundation (total of 16 boreholes)
• Vibro Driving of 440 no.s of 300mm diameter concrete piles upto a depth of 3m from the ground level per tank foundation (total of 840 boreholes)
• Compaction of ground for raft foundation as per Engineer and design requirements
• Reinforced Concreting works required for 8 no.s of 1000mm diameter reinforced concrete piles up to a depth of 15m from ground level per tank foundation (total of 16 boreholes).
• Reinforced Concreting works required for 440 no.s of 300mm diameter concrete piles upto a depth of 3m from the ground level per tank foundation (total of 840 boreholes)
• Filling of existing boreholes drilled at site (300mm diameter to a depth of 12m) with C40 Concrete for 2 no.s of boreholes.
• Concreting for 2 no.s of raft foundation for tanks of 600mm thickness as per design requirements.
• Painting and Finishing works required for the concrete tank foundations.
• Obtaining all necessary permits required for the drilling work from relevant local authorities, arranging for water and electrical requirements for the construction work.
• Clearance of site upon completion of work.

Drawings for the proposed tank foundations have been included with this invitation as Appendix1.

Prequalification requirement

Interested and competent contractors wishing to carry out the above project must submit the following documents with the Expression of Interest.

• Business Registration Certificate and Company Profile.
• Mira Tax Clearance (within 6 months)
• GST Registration
• Proposed management team, with CV’s of key personnel to be deployed on the project with the following minimum personnel:
  • Site supervisor or Site Engineering with Diploman in Civil Engineering or building technology related programme, with 2 years experience OR
  • Civil Engineer with a Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 years Experience
  • Evidence of successfully executed projects within the last 5 years, similar in scope and complexity.
  • Audited Financial Statement for the past 5 years.

Apart from above, contractors may submit any documents, information that may be necessary to prove their qualification for the work.

Submission of Proposal

Application for the Expression of Interest, accompanied by the above listed documents (Prequalification Requirement) should be forwarded in sealed envelope boldly marked at the top left corner.

Important Notice

1)      This tender is a Two stage tendering process, where the tendering process is conducted as follows;

• At the First Stage of the tender, bidders are called upon to present their initial tender proposal containing the prequalification documents without a bid price.
• Only the bidders who meet the prequalification criteria will be invited for the Second Stage of the tender to submit their final bid inclusive of the price.
