100 BED HOSPITAL PROJECT IN S.HITHADHOO

 ‘Consultancy for Project Accountant of Hithadhoo Hospital Project’

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received a loan from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and intends to apply part of the proceeds to eligible payments under the contract for hiring a Project Accountant Consultant for the project.

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this assignment is to implement a financial management system to ensure efficient and effective use of project resources for the purposes for which they were provided.

DURATION

The estimated duration of this assignment will be one-year period with possible extension as per the project needs, during which the consultant will work as a contracted staff member of Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure

SALARY: Negotiable

QUALIFICATION

Project Accountant should:

• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Preference will be given to candidates holding an ACCA certificate.
• Minimum 3 years experience in the accounting field.
• Familiarity with accounting guidelines of IDB or other donor parties and/or Project Management experience will be an added advantage
• Should be available on a full-time basis for the duration of the contract
• Posses good English & Dhivehi language skills
• Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel , Power Point and MS Project)

The contracted staff should also have the following professional competencies.

• Ability to interact with senior government officials and members of the public
• Ability to promote stakeholder participation and commitment for effective implementation of the project

The consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the SFD’s/OFID’s Guidelines for the use of Consultant.
