In the Maldives, too, bloggers, vloggers as well as aspiring movie-makers are increasingly turning to smartphones to creating short videos. The availability of so many smartphone-produced videos on You Tube and on other online platforms, is an indication that shows their popularity. The smartphone is also much trendy with the youth who see it as a non-expensive way to make reasonably good videos.

Course Objective:

The course will teach how to make amazing videos using a smartphone. The course will therefore, introduce participants to smartphone video production. The course is also designed to help students be prepared and equipped with basic skills and understanding of video production.

At the end of the course, participants will be confident in successfully demonstrating their skills in developing a video project from start to finish. And this include, identifying possible video story ideas, scripting, shooting, editing, producing and uploading to an online platform such as You Tube.

Duration: 4-hour Seminar + 1 week for production deadline.

Equipment: Smartphone.

 

The course includes modules on:

Introduction to Production:

- Core Principles of Video Production.

- The Production Process.

- The Players of Video Production.

Pre-Production:

- Writing screenplays for different genres.

- Creating a proposal for grants.

 

Mobile Production & Post-Production:

- Camera techniques.

- Free editing apps available for your device.

Project:

- Story ideas for the project

- Create a short video and screenplay.

Registration deadline: 11th of December 2021, before 2359 HRS.

Number of seats: 30 (priority will be given to the first 30 applicants).

 Age: 15 years and above.
