REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST 

CONTRACT MANAGEMENT ENGINEER (Local)

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure is implementing “Maldives Urban Development and Resilience Project” (MUDRP) financed by the World Bank and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the selection of a Contract Management Engineer for the implementation of this project by Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

The Contract Management Engineer will provide technical and engineering input for project activities, in accordance with the project documents and as per the donor guidelines in collaboration with the project team and stakeholder agencies to ensure all implementation arrangements of projects are carried out smoothly and on time.

The Candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience

1. Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with five (5) to seven (7) years general experience.
2. Previous work experience in donor funded projects would be an added advantage.
3. Should possess sound knowledge of computer aided design software/applications;
4. Should have strong command over English language with proven communication, presentation and negotiation skills and in, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
5. The successful individual must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision and travel routinely to project site.
6. In addition, the individual’s reputation of integrity and impartiality routed in independent from third parties shall be considered.
7. The short-listed candidate will be requested to participate in personal interviews and submit the names and contact details of personal referees who can attest to their ability.
8. The successful candidate must understand the objectives and delivery mechanisms of the projects portfolio. He/she must be willing to work in a team, be flexible to emerging or changing conditions, and undertake initiative in his/her broad field of actions.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, now invites interested eligible individuals to submit their Expressions of Interest (EoI). Interested candidates must provide a CV including information that demonstrates that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.)

The individual will be selected based on the qualification and experience, in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Regulations: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD loans and IDA credits and grants by World Bank Borrowers, of July 2016, Revised November 2017 and August 2018.

Successful candidate will be paid an all-inclusive monthly fee of MVR 39,330.00 by the project, depending on qualification and experience.

The services are required for a period of 48 month, which includes an initial probationary period of 3 months.
