The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received Technical Assistance (TA) financing in the amount of US$ 295 thousand from the Islamic Development Bank towards the cost of the Health Personnel Development and Sector Capacity Building, Maldives, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for consulting services to be procured under this TA. The total budget for this TA, including the Government allocation of US$ 85 thousand, is US$ 380 thousand. 

The project will include the following components:

• Component      A – Consultancy Services
• Component      B – Training and Capacity building
• Component      C – Enforcement of the developed standards to all health providers and      establishment of a National body for health facility accreditation.

Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the Islamic Development Bank’s Guidelines for the Use of Consultants Under Islamic Development Bank Financing (current edition).

Short-list of reputable and eligible international consultancy firms will be required for the following consulting services:

1. Develop clinical treatment guidelines for management of
   1. Paediatric/ neonatal conditions
   2. Internal medicine conditions
   3. Orthopaedic conditions
   4. Gynaecology/ Obstetrics conditions
   5. Accident and Emergency Services
   6. Renal conditions
   7. Neurological conditions
   8. Cardiac conditions
   9. Surgical conditions
2. Train relevant staff for these guidelines
3. Develop an audit tool for the clinical treatment guidelines.
