JOB VACANCY

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) is seeking for interested and suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of:

Position: Internal Auditor

Salary, Overtime payment and other allowances:  Negotiable

Qualification required:  

Holder of a professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA) or Masters in Accounting/Finance (preference shall be given to applicants with professional qualification)

Experience and skills required:

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance, Audit and Accounting field and worked in Senior Executive level of an organization/company.
2. Good understanding of risk management in accounting, finance and procurement etc.
3. Organized and disciplined individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to motivate audit teams to achieve company goals and objectives.
5. Leadership quality and a team player.
6. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the department.
2. Review adequacy of internal systems and controls to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.   
3. Identify company’s audit risk areas and prepare annual and periodic internal audit plans.
4. Carry out audit transactions, processes, records, assets etc. of the company on a regular basis.
5. Carry our ad hoc investigations or reviews based on audit findings or as requested by the Audit Committee and Management.
6. Prepare internal audit and inspection reports and present them to the management and board of directors.
7. Represent Internal Audit at the management, Board of Directors and with the external organizations.
8. Keep abreast with the audit work processes and promote continuous process improvement.
9. Sharing audit findings, issues & progress to management.
10. Perform other audit related functions as directed by the management and Board/Internal Audit
