Introduction:

The Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology at The Maldives National University wishes to hire one (1) energetic, self-motivated, organized and enthusiastic Research Assistant for the project on “Ambient intelligence approach towards smart waste management and waste reduction in Maldives”.

2500/-

Responsibilities:

• Conduct literature review of existing scientific as well as commercial approaches to waste management through Internet of Things.
• Provide analytic overview and pros and cons of sensors and other hardware used in these approaches.
• Provide specific recommendations what sensors and other hardware (within budget) to be used in MNU project.
• Conduct literature review of existing approaches to waste management through Pay-as-you-throw approaches.

Deliverables:

• Report of existing scientific as well as commercial approaches to waste management through Internet of Things.
• Spreadsheet with overview and pros and cons of sensors and other hardware used in these approaches.
• List of recommendations what sensors and other hardware (within budget) to be used in MNU project.
• Report of existing approaches to waste management through Pay-as-you-throw approaches

Required qualifications:

• Diploma in relevant field or student enrolled in Diploma or Degree program.
• Strong report writing skills in English.
• Skills in basic computing
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Added advantages:

• Degree in Computer Networking/IT/Computer Science or related field.
• Degree in Environment Management or related field.
• Experience with Internet of Things and related hardware
