 The Asia-Pacific Support Centre of the World Organization of the Scout Movement has announced the open call for nomination for the 7th Asia Pacific Regional Award for Outstanding Scouts (2018). The Scout Association of Maldives is pleased to announce the open call for nomination for the 7th Asia-Pacific Regional Award for Outstanding Scouts (2018). One nominee will be selected from the applicants and each group is encouraged to nominate one scout.

 

Since its inception in 2001, the Asia-Pacific Regional Award for Outstanding Scouts has become a regular feature and is among the highlights of every Regional Scout Conference, recognising Scouts who best epitomise good moral character, demonstrated sterling qualities of leadership in the community and outstanding contribution to nation-building thru voluntary services and community-development projects.

 

The announcement of the awards will be made in a special programme during 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference scheduled on 15-20 October 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Centre, Manila, Philippines.

 

The nomination form should be received by The Scout Association of Maldives latest by 30th May 2018. Candidate who will be shortlisted for the award will be announced by 31st July 2018 and is expected to attend the 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference in Manila.

 

The minimum requirements for the applicant are as following:

  1. Candidate must be an above average student in his/her academic performance for the current year
  2. He/she must be atleast 15 and not more than 20 years old at the time of the nomination for the award
  3. He/she must be able to communicate well in English
  4. He/she must atleast be a Frist Class Scout
  5. He/she must have demonstrated sterling qualities of leadership based on records of awards received and positions held, and the testimony of his/her teacher/s, unit leader/s and peers.
  6. He/she must have been extensively involved in voluntary services and community development projects or activities which must be supported by records or evidences (certificates, photos, testimonies, news articles and/or clippings, among others)
