Invitation for Expression of Interest

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) is seeking consultancy service to write a book on UNESCO Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve in English language. This book will be used in the communication, outreach, promotion and marketing of Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve.

To be eligible for the position the individual is expected to demonstrate the following:

• Minimum Undergraduate degree in the field of environmental science, tourism, marketing or related field
• At least 3 years of related professional experience in writing similar books or promotional materials
• Experience in editing/writing/reviewing on Environment, or related fields
• Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to write and present information in a non-technical and captivating language.
• Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude,
• Experience and interest in photography
• Advanced knowledge and skills of MS Office, including Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint is required
• Demonstrates ability to manage complexities and work under pressure and conflict resolution

Successful individual will be required to give 60 (sixty) days of input over a period of 2 (two) months. The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit:

• Letter of interest to undertake this task;
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the applicant including information on qualifications to perform the assignment. Experience and appropriate skills with at least 2 referees;
• Copy of relevant attested academic qualifications and additional skills;
• Copy of National ID card / Passport;
• Financial Proposal;
• Copy / Portfolio of the previous similar assignments on writing books and photography (if present);
• Reference letters from past supervisors/ clients

Applications must be delivered in sealed envelopes titled “Preparation of an information and promotional book on UNESCO Baa Atoll Biosphere Reserve” on or before 11:00 hrs on 25^th February 2018, to the below address. Electronic bidding will also be not be accepted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidder’s representatives, who choose to attend in person at the address below on 12:00 hrs on 25^th February 2018.
