This position requires a talented and highly conceptual focused designer who can work across digital, identity, and print. 

Confidence, Conviction and problem-ownership are big aspects of this role as they would expect the person to present and defend their ideas in front of senior management.

Graphic Design is integral to the work we deliver in corporate communications and this new role is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of creative solutions that work across digital, social and print, to help drive audience engagement with the work of Maldives Ports Limited.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication, or Equivalent.
• OR minimum 5 - 10 years of proven experience in a similar role

Skills & Competencies

• Possess extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign). Any additional knowledge of motion graphics (from GIF creation upwards) and or 3D software such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D etc. would be an added advantage.
• Confident in sharing ideas and problem solving under pressure

This position supports all of MPL Strategic Planning & Business Development Teams to develop effective business writing that will drive the business strategy, marketing and contribute towards reaching company goals.

This individual will need to collaborate with internal designers to meet objectives and deadlines; while developing strong call to actions as well as engaging headlines. Candidate must be comfortable with writing, as 70%-80% of the position will be focused on writing.

The ideal candidate will have previous Copywriting experience focused on Business/Marketing, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to manage multiple projects while adhering to deadlines and enjoy working in a collaborated organization. 

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Business or related field
• OR minimum 5-10 years of proven relevant business writing experience in advertising, marketing and/or communications capacities. Previous Marketing/Advertising Copywriting experience is strongly desired.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills (English)
• Knowledge of writing as it relates to all forms of marketing and advertising.
• Adept at headlines, long copy, and writing business content.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics and write accurately about those topics or concepts immediately after introduction
• Strong organizational skills and an eye for presentation and details
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
