Male’ Water & Sewerage Company Pvt. Ltd, hereby announces Invitation for submission of Proposals for “Hiring a Passenger Ferry for a Period of 1 Year”

 Scope of Work

1. Service Provider

The monthly price should incorporate all the items in the scope below;

• Passenger Ferry with seating for a minimum of 70 passengers
• Must have an area to load cargo to the vessel.
• Vessel must have a valid registration, safety certificate, passenger permit for minimum of 70 pax.
• Vessel must be able to travel from Male’ to Gulhifalhu under 21 minutes.
• All the maintenance works of the vessel will have to be managed by the vessel owner. During maintenance breaks the owner must provide a same scope vessel to MWSC and MWSC trips must not be interrupted.
• Captain and crewmen must be arranged by the owner of the vessel. 1 Captain with the necessary license and at least 2 crews.
• All safety equipment’s must be available on the vessel. Life Jackets must be available for all passengers. Fire extinguishers and full first aid kit must be available. Overall, all equipment’s related safety certificate must be available on the vessel for inspection.
• The crew must assist in loading and unloading cargo from the vessel and to the vessel accordingly.
• The daily number of trips between Gulhifalhu and Male is 12. Each trip is considered as Male – Gulhifalhu – Male. (Return Included). Price should be sent in the rate per month

 Qualification Information & Requirement

Interested and eligible service providers wishing to provide passenger ferry services for this project must meet the following requirements and submit the supporting documents demonstrating fulfilment of the requirements:

• Bid Security
• Business Registration Certificate at Economic Ministry
• GST Registration
• MIRA Tax Clearance Report (within 06 months) must be clear.
• Company Business Information Sheet (Economic Ministry)
• The vendor must have an own vessel under the company name OR the company must have a valid agreement between the vessel owners.  MOU is not applicable
• Vendor must have been in service of vessel rental for the past 2 years.
• All the safety items required by the Maldives Law will be checked during vessel inspection. Absence of any item will disqualify the bidder.
• Vessel must be registered and annual fee must be paid for the duration of the vessel rental. Proof of registration and annual fee payment must be available during inspection.
• Valid safety certificate of the vessel must be provided during the inspection.

Bid Security & Performance Guarantee

Each Service provider shall furnish a bid security in the amount of MVR 10,000/-. Successful service provider shall furnish to the Employer a performance Bank Guarantee in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Contract sum within Fourteen (14) days of receipt of the notification of award from the Employer.
