Assistant Electrician (*2)

Requirement / Qualifications:

• Completed diploma or advanced certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and /or 2 years of experience as an Electrician in a related field.
• Applicants should be within the age range of 20 to 40 years.

Key responsibilities:

• Use appropriate safety equipment and established safety procedures in performing assigned tasks.
• Oversee and handle all the electrical, refrigeration and air-conditioning works.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, refrigeration & a/c systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using appropriate testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
• Direct and train the electrical works staff to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Direct and train the electrical staff to install, maintain, or repair refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and fixtures.
• Maintain records and files, prepare reports and order supplies and equipment.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Aid during emergencies by operating floodlights, generators etc.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks on a variety of electrical equipment and refrigeration & a/c system.
• Understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, charts, etc.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and user departments.
• Exercise independent judgment in determining repair methods.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting accidents/incidents.

Skills and Attributes:

• Literacy in computer knowledge with familiarity in Microsoft office, applications, internet browsers and email is an added advantage.
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English
• Ability to excel in a team environment

Benefits

• Basic Salary: MVR 6,080/- 
• Service Allowance: 3,450/-
• Overtime Pay will be paid as per company policy.
