The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Transforming Fisheries Sector Management in South-West Indian Ocean Region and Maldives Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under Consulting Services. The consulting services required is to hire an Individual Consultant for “Civil Engineer Consultant”.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources now invites eligible consultants to submit Expression of Interest. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The criteria are:

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in civil engineering with minimum general experience of 10 years in similar capacity including experience of designing/ review and implementing infrastructure projects OR
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with minimum general experience of 10 years in similar capacity including experience of designing/ review and implementing infrastructure projects.
• Qualification in TOR task related field will be considered.
• Should possess sound knowledge of computer aided design software/applications.
• Work Experience in Maldives will be an additional advantage.
• Knowledge and understanding of technical, commercial, and legal aspects of procurement of donor - financed projects would be an added advantage.
• Should have strong leadership, management, and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
