REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANTS

1. The Government of Maldives has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Maldives; Atolls Education Development Project (AEDP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

2. The consulting services (“the Services”) includes all the tasks related to Infrastructure technical team in infrastructure design and contract management. The assignment is to be for a period of 01 (one) year.

3. The detailed Terms of Reference (TOR) for the assignment is attached with this announcement.

4. The Ministry of Education now invites eligible individual consultants (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The selection criteria are:

  • Master’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, or related field with minimum general experience of 01 years;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field with minimum general experience of 02 years;
  • Should possess sound knowledge of computer aided design software/applications;
  • Should have excellent command over English with proven communication and, presentation and negotiation skills;
  • Should be capable of providing leadership, motivation and training to the staff and stakeholders;
  • Work Experience in Maldives will be an additional advantage;
  • Should have strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team;

5. The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest. 

6. A Consultant will be selected based on the EOI submitted and Interview process.

8. Expressions of interest must be delivered in a written form to the address below (by e-mail/post) by 16th September 2024 (Monday) 1200 hours (local time).
