Job Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with Company’s HSSEQ System for a given number of vessels
  • To manage the daily operation of the vessels assigned to him in accordance with Company’s HSSEQ System
  • Advise Masters and Chief Engineers on important matters
  • Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant
  • Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys
  • Arrange and follow up repairs and services
  • Review monthly cost control and financial reports before sending to General Manager for approval
  • Prepare input for the annual budgets for the vessels
  • Prepare annual and quarterly management reports for the General Manager’s approval
  • Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry-docking specification for the General Manager’s approval, submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the General Manager
  • Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the General Manager for approval
  • Prepare docking report
  • Follow up purchasing, monitor the orders from the vessel ensuring that they submitted on a timely fashion
  • Approve invoices for payment
  • Liaise with the Insurance Manager in claims handling
  • Part of Company’s emergency response team (for the vessels he is responsible for)
  • Follow up reported deficiencies and non-conformities from vetting inspections, port state control, audits and flag state inspections and keep HSSEQ department advised of corrective action and closure

Required Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in maritime related field (Marine Engineering / Nautical Science / Marine Electric & Electrotic Engineering)

Preferred Requirements

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Computer literate and familiar with window applications eg. Word, spread sheet, power point etc.
  • Medical report
  • Police Report
  • Age 25 – 55 Years
  • Shipboard Experience as engineer or deck officer
  • Shore base experience in vessel technical management
