Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with Company’s HSSEQ System for a given number of vessels
• Advise Masters and Chief Engineers on important matters
• Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant
• Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys
• Arrange and follow up repairs and services
• Prepare input for the annual budgets for the vessels
• Prepare annual and quarterly management reports for the General Manager’s approval
• Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry docking specification for the General Manager’s approval, submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the General Manager
• Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the General Manager for approval
• Prepare docking report
• Follow up purchasing, monitor the orders from the vessel ensuring that they submitted on a timely fashion
• Part of Company’s emergency response team (for the vessels he is responsible for)
• Follow up reported deficiencies and non-conformities from vetting inspections, port state control, audits and flag state inspections and keep HSSEQ department advised of corrective action and closure

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Technology in Marine Engineering OR Electric/Electronic Engineering OR Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent certificate

Preferred Requirements

• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Computer literate and familiar with window applications e.g. Word, spread sheet, power point etc.
• Age 25 – 40 Years
• Experience in Marine Engineering will be an added advantage
