MALDIVES CLEAN ENVIRONMENT PROJECT

Request for Expressions of Interest- Project Coordinator - Zone 2

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Maldives Clean Environment Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the services of a full-time service of a:Project Coordinator - Zone 2

The objective of this assignment is to assist the project team in the operational management of the projects in accordance with the project documents and as per the donor guidelines in collaboration with the project team and stakeholder agencies to assist the project team in all implementation arrangements of projects to carry out smoothly and on time.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

To be eligible for consideration for this position the candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration or in any relevant field with professional work experience of at least 10 years. Or,
  2. A Master’s degree in Project Management, business administration with professional work experience of at least five (05) years.

Professional work experience shall include:

  • General work experience – (Criteria 1- 10 years of Experience, Criteria 2- 5 years of experience)
  • Experience in donor assisted development projects -1 year
  • Experience in Project coordination / Project administration -1 year

Should have strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be working in a team and must be willing to work for extended hours without much direct supervision and may be required to travel routinely to the project islands.

The successful candidate must understand the objectives and delivery mechanisms of the project’s portfolio. He/She will be flexible to emerging or changing conditions and undertake an initiative in his/her broad field of actions.

The Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, thereby, invites interested individuals, who meet the requirements specified in the TORs to submit the following;

  • Letter of Expression of Interest (EOI)
  • Curriculum Vitae. The CV must contain all the past similar experiences in details
  • Attested copies of educational and professional certificates. Copies of the educational certificate shall be taken from the original accredited certificates.
  • Reference letters from previous employers
  • Copy of the National Identification Card.

Application by a current civil servant must accompany a letter from the applicant’s current employer stating no-objection of releasing him/her from the job.
