Urbanco is pleased to announce the Corporate Apprenticeship Program 2023 and therefore invites interested eligible candidates to submit their interest to join this program.

Urbanco Apprenticeship Program is one of the key CSR initiatives conducted by Urbanco to empower youth. The objective of this program is to develop skilled youth in the society true to our strategic pillar of developing a consonant community and bring socio-economic equity. The program will allow participants to gain experience and training in following fields.
1. Gardening
2. Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanics
3. Inventory Management
4. Computer Hardware & Networking
5. Housekeeping
6. Laundry Operations
7. Front Office Services
8. Heavy Vehicle Operations
9. Construction Site Supervision
10. Health & Safety in Construction
11. Painting & Decorations
12. Welding Techniques

The primary focus of the program is on developing the skills of the chosen discipline, gain self-confidence, learn work ethics and build the apprentice's competence to become a professional. Since 2016, graduates who have completed the program are serving in various posts in Urbanco and in other various corporate entities. Through this program Urbanco strives to enrich the lives of the future generations.

Apprentices will be required to attend the allocated hours of work similar to other staff, while completing the required number of hours and attaining the level of performance required to get certified after evaluation.

Minimum Qualification and Requirement

1. Completion of Grade 10 and/or MQA level 2 qualification
2. Candidates should be within the age group of 18-30 years.
3. Unemployed or be in a part-time employment (working hours should not be more than 20 hours per week) at the time of application.

Duration: The apprenticeship program will be conducted for a duration of 6 months.
Number of participants: 100 slots.
Compensation Package: MVR 6000.00 paid monthly to each apprentice

Graduation requirements:

• Candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% in the assessments (theoretical and practical)
• Candidates should have minimum 95% of attendance
• Candidates should achieve a satisfactory performance level

Elimination from the program
Should the Apprentice fail to maintain a satisfactory attendance, conduct or performance during the apprentice program, Urbanco will reserve the right to withdraw the offer made and remove the individual from the apprentice program.

Opportunities: Exceptional apprentices will be employed at Urbanco based on availability of job position.
