Letter of Invitation

The Government of Maldives represented by the Ministry of Tourism invites eligible investors, local or foreign to register their interest by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the development of tourist resorts in the following islands:

1. H. Dh. Dhipparufushi
2. H. Dh. Kanamana
3. H. Dh. Kudafarufasgandu
4. Lagoon in H. Dh Atoll with coordinates 6°42’41”N, 72°54’34”E
5. Sh. Bolissafaru

H. Dh. Kanamana. H. Dh. Kudafarufasgandu and the lagoon in H. Dh Atoll mentioned above will be developed as a single project.

Composition of the EOI:

1. Letter of Interest indicating:

    Details of the individual or company or consortium or the party representing them including name, address and mobile number and email address or information of the party representing them.

2. Profile of the individual, company or consortium.

3. Documents indicating any prior experience that the individual, company or consortium may have in tourist resort development.

4. Document from a bank or financial institution indicating that the individual, company or consortium possesses the financial capacity to develop and operate a tourist resort. The document should meet the following requirements:

a. Should include the name and permanent address of the proponent.

b. Assuarance from the bank or financial institution that the proponent has the financial capacity or means to develop a tourist resort.

c. The bank or the financial institution providing the letter should be recognized by Maldives Monetary Authority.

Deadline for submission of EOI:

The deadline for submission of EOI is on Thursday, 04^th December 2014 at 1400hrs.

Information Session

For interested parties, an information session will be held on Thursday, 27^th November 2014, at 1400hrs at the Ministry of Tourism.

Submission of Expressions of Interest

All submissions of EOI shall be marked “EOI FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST RESORTS IN HAA DHAALU AND SHAVIYANI ATOLL” and addressed to:

Evaluation Process

If the required documents have not been submitted, and if the party fails to submit a document from a bank or any other financial instituation assuring their financial capacity to develop a tourist resort, the submission will be disqualified. After a preliminary evaluation of the remaining submissions, the opportunity to submit proposals shall be issued to the selected parties.
