POSITION: ASSISTANT AIRFIELD INSPECTOR

Requirement / Qualifications:

• Level 3 in electronics (or)
• 2 years’ experience in the field

Key responsibilities:

• Attends to Work Orders promptly as instructed by HOD and documents all pending, repair, design, and installation work.
• Repairs and maintains Aviation Ground Lighting and related components such as High Voltage Cables, Medium Voltage Cables, Low Voltage Cables, Constant Current Regulators, Cable Joints, Isolating Transformers, Lamp Fittings, Standby Power Generators, PLC Based Control Systems over Fiber Optic Rings, Switchgear, Relays, Contactors, Motors and Sensors in compliance with applicable Operating Procedures, statutory and safety regulations.
• Perform Aerodrome Serviceability Inspections
• Provide assistance to the Senior Management on the preparation of plans and budget for equipment upgrades and manpower development.
• Assist and do periodic inspection of Aviation Ground Lighting Systems ensuring highest possible reliability and maintains history of such inspections according to ICAO guidelines and established procedures.
• Drives vehicle to do physical inspection of Aviation Ground Lighting; pick up and deliver personnel and materials. Update such physical inspections on the appropriate Aerodrome Safety Self Check List.
• May train and direct trainee employees or subordinates; may participate in training new employees.
• Maintains equipment manuals, books and other documentation of Gan International Airport’s AGL Systems and associated components.
• Perform all other duties related to the job as assigned by the management.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

• Knowledge of operation of test equipment such as cable fault locators, meggers, cable detectors and related measurement instrumentation.
• Ability to perform mathematics associated with trade applications such as load calculations and sizing of conductors and components suitable for desired installations.
• Skill in the use of surveying equipment such as Theodolites, Levels and Distance measuring tools.
