Vacancies in Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services

We are currently seeking highly qualifiedProject Officer to join our team.

 

 

A. Objective and Purpose of Assignment

The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services is seeking to hire an individual to assist in the work carried out by the Family and Community Development (FCD) division of the Ministry in successful implementation of activities under the “Geveshi Gulhun Campaign” on combating domestic violence .

 

B. Scope of Work

The Project officer will be required to undertake following tasks, among others;

1. Coordinate the planned activities of the project to ensure the timely delivery of the activities;

2. Ensure information, reports and other documentation requested by the Division Head for the implementation and review of the project are provided in a timely manner;

3. Ensure all relevant information, documents, financial and technical reports are made available for review during review missions, by independent reviewers and/or review by other relevant Authorities of Government of the Maldives.

4. Ensure documents required for the procurement process of the goods and services needed for the implementation of the project is timely produced and submitted to the relevant divisions of the Ministry.

5. Provide overall coordination to the stakeholders and other partners and ensure timely delivery of the project outputs in accordance to the contract agreements.

6- Ensure social media accounts related to the project are updated and information which needs to be out to media are timely communicated with Media Division of the Ministry.

7. Any other work related tasks assigned by the FCD Head.

 

C. Duration and Commencement of Services

Successful candidates will be contracted for a period of 1 (one) year, with potential renewal of contract based on performance and organizational need, the duration of which will be negotiated with the individual but shall not exceed 2 (two) years in total. Expected commencement of services is January 2022.

 

 

 

D. Qualifications and Experience

1. At least Advanced Diploma or Bachelors’ Degree related to the field of assignment (Development studies, sociology, gender studies, social science, social policy, Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management) with minimum work experience of 2 years which is related to the work to be assigned.

3. Work experience in delivery of social work related projects will be an added advantage.

4. Knowledge and understanding of technical, commercial and legal aspects of procurement of donor - financed projects would be an added advantage.

6. Knowledge and experience in international donor funded project management will be an added advantage.

7. Good writing skills in Dhivehi as well as English will be an added advantage.

 

8. Good computer skills MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Google Drive Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms and social media management (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) will be an added advantage.

9. Should be able to travel within the country as and when necessary.

 

 

E. Reporting Requirement

 1. Report directly to the Head of FCD division of the Ministry.

 2. The Project officer should report to work on week days from 0800 – 1400hrs, other than public holidays. Depending on the workload may need to spend time beyond official hours.

 

F. Remuneration and Leave details

Successful candidate will be paid a fixed monthly fee of MVR15000 (Salary 5610/- and Allowances 8997/-) and 7% of salary will be deducted for pension. In addition, any fees payable to the individual for duty travel assignments, Ramadan allowance shall be compensated at the government prevailing rates. Fixed monthly fee shall be subject to deduction for pension and any other statutory requirement as may be applicable. Leave entitlement shall be as follows;

 

Annual Leave: The Project Officer may take up to thirty (30) working days leave per calendar year if the contract is renewed after one year.

 

Sick Leave: The Project Officer may take Thirty (30) days of paid sick leave out of which only 15 days will be granted without a medical certificate. The staff is not allowed to take sick leave for more than two consecutive days unless a medical certificate specifying the nature of the illness and recommended duration of sick leave issued by a licensed medical practitioner is submitted on the first day back at work.

 

Family Responsibility Leave: The Project Officer may take Ten (10) days of paid leave in a year to attend important obligations such as tending family members during illness.

 

Unpaid Leave: The Project Officer will not be paid for leave(s) that exceed the maximum allowed and the Client may terminate the contract if the unpaid leave exceeds more than thirty (30) working days.
