ASSISTANT MANAGER-HORTICULTURE

  • Basic Salary: MVR 10,000/-
  • Service Allowances: MVR 3000/-
  • Attendance Allowance: MVR 2500/-

  • Phone Allowance: MVR 450/-

     QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Agriculture or related field.
  • Experience working in a similar area at managerial/supervisory level.
  • Knowledge of Marketing Strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill.
  • Able to work overtime as and when required.

     IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NO LIMITED TO:

  • Oversee and manage work undertaken by the Horticulture Division, Business Development Department;
  • Ensure suitable cropping patterns taking into consideration the soil quality, climatic conditions and crop water requirements and prepare cropping calendar.
  • Identify new and better methods of farming based on evidence and issues faced by the farmers.
  • Ensure the project implemented sites are continuously monitored and evaluate the effectiveness of production in the sites.
  • Participate in monitoring and supervision of farms and other facilities of AgroNat.
  • Develop farmer’s training materials and information document required.
  • Review key government policies, legislations, and regulations including, but not limited to, Government Strategic Action Plan (SAP) and other agriculture related strategies to ensure alignment of company development with national priorities.
  • Find ways to attend to issues arising from factors such as climate change and other natural disaster.
  • Liaise on a regular basis with the stakeholder institutions and farmers.
  • Provide technical assistance required in the formulation of the business plan and other documents;
  • Develop procedures and protocols to attend to agricultural issues and improve efficiency in production.

     WORKING HOURS:

  • 08:00am to 16:00pm (Sunday to Thursday; and Saturdays if needed).
