MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT

1. Bachelor’s Degree or MNQF Level 7 Qualification in Building Services or relevant field with minimum 3 years’ experience working in a design farm, preferably in multistorey building services designs (preferably 10 storey and/or above).

OVERALL SCOPE
Undertake Building Services Engineering (MEP and/or HVAC) related works conducted by the section with major focus on (but not limited to) designing and reviewing of the services.

SCOPE OF WORK
• Use specialist computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
• Negotiate and develop project contracts and agree these with clients and putting out tenders.
• Prepare electrical load calculations, pressure loss calculations, shop drawings and As-built drawings.
• Work with detailed diagrams, plans and drawings.
• Review and approve building services systems, including MEP & HVAC fittings.
• Test installations and systems and analyze data.
• Commission, organize and assess the work of contractors.
• Manage and forecast spending by using whole life cycle costing techniques to ensure that work is within budget and energy efficient systems are implemented.
• Design site specific equipment’s as required.
• Oversee and supervise installation of building systems and specify maintenance and operating procedures.
• Monitor building systems and processes.
• Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects and surveyors and project teams.
• Ensure that the design and maintenance of building system meets the legislative and health and safety standards.
• Advice on energy use and conservation of buildings and sites, with the aim of minimizing the site’s environmental impact reducing its carbon footprint
• Liaise closely with utility providers in city wide utility planning and implementation including reviewing, commenting and approving of utility networks.
• Review, comment and update utility requirements and negotiate with utility providers to overcome the challenges, at least bi-annually or as required.
• Develop and publish guidelines related to utility services.
• Conduct research to improve the utility guidelines to incorporate sustainability.

JOB SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS
• Proven experience in preparing maintenance and operational procedures.
• Experience in designing, wire testing, commissioning and, preparation of load calculations and single line diagram of high-rise buildings electrical panels.
• Experience in designing, testing and commissioning of plumbing and drainage, and HVAC services in high-rise buildings
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, MS project, Hevacomp or any other computer aided engineering and designing software to design the systems required for projects, Autodesk Revit (not essential), etc.
• Ability to design, manage projects and technical team with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel; knowledge of the use of various types of office equipment such as multi-line phones, printers and scanners.
• Should be able to work as an individual and as a flexible team player.
• Strong communication skills (verbal as well as written).
• Should be able to priorities tasks and manage one's own time effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

SALARY PACKAGE:

Negotiable based on Educational Qualification and Experience.
