MALDIVES CLEAN ENVIRONMENT PROJECT
MONITORING AND EVALUATION SPECIALIST
Request for Expressions of Interest
The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Saafu Raajje - Maldives Clean Environment Project for Zone IV and V, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the services of a full time Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist.
The objective of this assignment is to set up evaluation and monitoring strategy and framework to evaluate the implementation of activities of the project to ensure all outputs are delivered smoothly and on time.
To be eligible for consideration for this position the candidate must meet the following criteria:
- A master’s degree from a recognized university in international community development, project management or comparable academic preparation, or equivalent experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation programs in the development sector.
- Minimum 3 years’ general experience of implementing and evaluating projects in the environment sector OR project management in environment sector
- Demonstrated experience in M&E system development and data analysis in the environment sector
- A demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge about the Project, project objectives, delivery mechanisms, performance indicators, and operation performance monitoring and evaluation requirements;
- Experience in implementation of donor funded projects
- Experience in a World Bank supported project would be an asset.
- Strong computer skills required (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Projects etc.) and other relevant computer applications.
- Good written and oral English and Dhivehi.
- Strong communication skills and good interpersonal relations.
The successful individual must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision and travel routinely to islands within the catchment.
In addition, the individual’s reputation of integrity and impartiality routed in independent from third parties shall be considered.
The short-listed candidate will be requested to participate in personal interviews and submit the names and contact details of personal referees who can attest to their ability.
The successful candidate must understand the objectives and delivery mechanisms of the projects portfolio. He/she must be willing to work in a team, be flexible to emerging or changing conditions, and undertake initiative in his/her broad field of actions.
Successful individual will be paid an all-inclusive monthly remuneration between 30,000.00 to MVR 35,000.00
The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit their application letter, CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, reference, education certificates and national identity card/passport copy etc).
