Agro National Corporation (AgroNat) is seeking to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage and oversee the Accounting and Finance Functions of the Corporation.

AgroNat is part of the MFMC Group. MFMC is a 100% State-Owned Enterprise working towards facilitating capital market solutions for the development of the private sector of the Maldives. Additionally, AgroNat was established with the overall mandate to assist in developing the agricultural sector through contract farming.

  • Basic Salary: MVR 14,500/-
  • Service Allowances: MVR 4350/-
  • Attendance Allowance: MVR 3625/-

  • Management Allowance: 2500/-
  • Phone Allowance: MVR 750/-

      QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

Educational Qualification

Minimum Experience

  1. Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Public Accountants (CPA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or member of any professional accounting body recognized by IFAC
  • Minimum 7 years of which 5 years’ experience in financial and corporate reporting
  • Minimum 3 years’ senior management experience in a corporate environment
  • Sound knowledge in application of IFRS
  1. Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10 years of which 5 years’ experience in financial and corporate reporting
  • Minimum 3 years’ senior management experience in a corporate environment
  • Sound knowledge in application of IFRS

 

In addition to educational and experience requirements, the following requirements are expected:

  • Knowledge of Management strategies
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English and Dhivehi
  • Ability of working extra hours when required.

       IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NO LIMITED TO:

  • Provide support to the Managing Director of MFMC in ensuring the financial objectives of the MFMC Group are achieved.
  • Providing support to the Managing Director to ensure financial objectives are achieved and to manage the financial Strategies of the company.
  • Ensure the alignment of the strategy, policy, planning and management of the company from a financial perspective in accordance with the company vision and mission.
  • Monitor the overall financial performance, financial planning, and management of the company and provide regular inputs and recommendations to ensure its effective implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, monitor, and review the financial activities and procedures of the company and oversee the planning, implementation and quality assurance of financial procedures and policies of the company.
  • Regularly analyse the company’s financial status and records and ensure appropriate measures are taken to achieve financial objectives.
  • Use good commercial instincts and networking skills to represent the company with professionalism & integrity and to drive business development.
  • Using leadership skills to drive others, establish a shared vision and motivate people to work together to achieve shared objectives. Additionally, train, supervise and coordinate the activities of finance and accounting staffs. Provide strategic support and recommendations to the Managing Director on actions that require his direction.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard the financial integrity of the company, monitors contracts, assets and ensures compliance with government regulations standards and international accounting standards, and industry best practices. 
  • Recommend, develop, and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Oversee the accounting and budgeting functions of the company and ensure the functions follow that of the Group.
  • Ensure all financial reports are submitted to MFMC to adhere with the reporting requirement of Group Financial Statements to the requirements of the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB).
  • Provide assistance to other companies of the MFMC Group as and when required.

          WORKING HOURS:

  • 08:00am to 16:00pm (Sunday to Thursday; and Saturdays if needed).
