Graduate Certificate in relevant field.

OVERALL SCOPE

The safety manager is responsible for providing guidance and direction for the planning, implementation and operation of the organization’s safety management system. The safety manager reports direct to the accountable manager.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Seven Years of Experience in relevant field.

SCOPE OF WORK

• Establish and maintain an adequate safety management system, aerodromes in accordance with applicable civil aviation regulations.
• Prepare, update, distribute and ensure compliance with RACL’s Safety Management Manual, SOPs, Emergency Response Plan and Airport Emergency Plans.
• Review all safety reports on a daily basis and process safety reports in accordance with approved procedures.
• Investigate safety occurrences, possible violations and unsafe practices and prepare reports for the purpose of preventing similar occurrences in the future.
• Perform hazard identification and risk management functions in accordance with the requirements of Safety Management Manual.  
• Perform safety audits and surveys in accordance with Safety Management Manual.
• Work on continuous improvement of safety standards of the company.
• Conduct emergency exercises to assess the preparedness of the company to deal with emergencies in accordance with Emergency Response Plan.
• Prepare and disseminate safety information in a timely manner to address safety concerns and for promoting safety awareness.
• Ensure safety committee meetings are conducted in a timely manner.
• Promote safety policy and good safety culture, including human factors.
• Prepare training syllabus and liaise with relevant departments and ensure compliance with training requirements for safety management system. 
• Ensure that safety management activities are properly documented and stored.
• Take corrective actions to quality audit findings and safety concerns in a timely manner.
