Basic Salary

 MVR: 20,000.00

 40 % of Basic – Professional Allowance 

 50 % of Basic – Management Allowance 

 Retirement pension scheme – 7% of the basic salary will be contributed monthly on behalf of employee to the Retirement pension fund of the Maldives.

Main Responsibilities

 Manage the company’s financial planning with responsibility for maintenance of fiscal records, budgeting and the production of financial and regulatory reports.

 Strive to achieve a high level of efficiency in all areas of operation and maintain an environment of strict cost control which will provide the basis for funding a product range which meets the financial needs and aspirations of customers.

 Prepare and present financial and other reports to MGPL’s internal management committees as well as the Board of Directors and its sub-committees.

 Plan, develop, direct and control MFPL’s finance, accounting, tax and budgeting functions.

 Ensuring effective compliance and control and responding to ever increasing regulatory developments, including financial reporting, capital requirements, and corporate responsibility; ensuring the Accounting & Finance function supports the business at a strategic and operational level.

 Fulfilling stewardship responsibilities by working with executive colleagues to develop strategy and to ensure the Finance function partners with the business to deliver MGPL’s strategic objectives. 

Educational Qualification

 Master’s Degree or MNQF Level 9 qualification in Accounting and Finance  (preferably CIMA / ACCA / CPA) with minimum 5 years’ experience  in Accounting & Finance field at a senior management position

 OR 

Bachelors’ Degree or MNQF Level 7 qualification in Accounting and Finance (preferably CIMA / ACCA / CPA) with minimum 10 years’ experience in Accounting & Finance field.

Preference will be given to CIMA / ACCA /CPA qualification holders.

Skills

 Broad exposure to Accounting, financial, banking and Operations.

 Analytical and strategic thinker who can help develop key metrics and analytics, plan, organize, execute and report out ideas and results.

 GAAP, IAS & IFRS in-depth knowledge or possess a professional or equivalent accounting qualification.

 Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills with a knack for negotiation

 Sound judgment and strong analytical skills in order to effectively resolve problems and flexibility to cope with rapidly changing environments.

 Ability to motivate team to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several activities
