PROJECT ENGINEER

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Government of Maldives has applied for a grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Kulhudhuffushi Harbor Expansion Project (the project) and intends to apply a portion of its proceeds to engage individual consultants to support the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure (the Employer) in the project implementation.

The Ministry wishes to contract a Project Engineer (Local) and will be recruited as part of the Project Management Unit (PMU) for the project, which has been performing all project management and implementation activities throughout the detailed design, procurement, construction, technical assistance, commissioning stages and post-defect liability periods. PMU and MNPI is assisted by a Project Management Consultant (PMC) team in performing general project management, procurement, detailed design, construction supervision and monitoring activities

 

The candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in civil/structural/coastal engineering with 7 to 10 years of experience in general infrastructure projects or preferably a Master’s Degree in the same field with  5 to 7 years of experience in general infrastructure projects. Experience in harbor construction projects and working for international donor funded projects is also preferred.

 

Successful candidate will be paid a fixed monthly remuneration depending on the qualification and experience ranging from MVR30,000 – 36,000. The estimated duration of this consultancy is 8 calendar months.

The Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit their Expression of Interest (EoI). Interested candidates must provide a CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, references etc).

 

The individual will be selected based on the qualification and experience, in accordance with the procedures set out in the Asian Development Bank’s The Use of Consultants (2013, as amended from time to time).

Simultaneous to this invitation, a Consulting Services Recruitment Notice (CSRN) for this assignment is published on ADB's website. If online submission is preferred, interested individual may express their interest online through ADB's website www.adb.org under business opportunities section. The deadline for submission via ADB’s website is the same as below.
