Education and Experience:

 

  1. PhD (MNQF 10) in respective field or
  2. Must be registered with Maldives Medical and Dental Council as Specialist Medical Doctor (MNQF 9)
  3. *Foreigners must be eligible to register at Maldives Medical and Dental Council as Specialist Medical Doctor

Senior Lecturer /Assistant Professor

Expatriates applying for this post should have to have a registered medical practicing license.

Members of the faculty must be committed to continued professional development and in enhancing the capabilities of effective teaching.

It is essential for the academic staff to have the required academic qualification for the discipline they are teaching in as specified in the job specification, and to also have expertise in one or more subdivisions or specialties within that discipline, as well as research capabilities.

It is expected that teachers must contribute to the advancement of knowledge and to the intellectual growth of their students through the scholarly activity of research and continuing education

Additional Requirements:

Develop teaching materials and conduct lectures according to the course syllabus and scheme of work

Assess students’ course work assignment and setting and marking examinations

Support students through a pastoral or advisory role and monitor the performance and progress of the students

Prepare feedback to management on course proceedings and continual improvement of the student performance

Coordinate course or subjects

Carry out departmental administrative tasks, such as student admissions, induction programs and involvement in committees, boards, and other professional activities

Assist the management in preparing policies and curriculum development

Undertake research projects and actively contribute to the research profile of the  University; supervise student research projects.
