Technical Assistance to Supervise the Civil Works of the Water and Sewerage Projects

Request for Expressions of Interest: National Consultant 

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) is implementing, provision of Water Supply and Sewerage Facilities in the Islands and is seeking the services of a qualified National Consultant to supervise the civil works of the water and sewerage projects.

The objective of this assignment is to provide technical assistance to supervise the civil works of the water and sewerage projects. 

To be eligible for the position the individual is expected to demonstrate the following:

a) Minimum Postgraduate Degree qualification in civil or environmental engineering.

b) At least 5 years’ experience in water supply ( focus on desalination schemes ) and sewerage design and rehabilitation

c) Have experience in management of water and sewerage projects.

d) Substantial, relevant and practical working experience, preferably in Small Island Developing States or in a similar geographic context in implementing water and sanitation programs and projects,

Should have strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

The successful individual must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision and travel routinely to islands within the catchment.

In addition, the individual’s reputation of integrity and impartiality routed in independent from third parties shall be considered.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit their CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, reference etc). A Price Proposal indicating the breakdown of all costs associated to the assignment. The proposal should have a validity of at least 90 days period.
