This is to notify all parties interested to cover, observe or monitor Presidential Election 2018 in any capacity will be required to obtain a business visa. Business visa will be issued for those who hold permit issued from the Election Commission of the Maldives to cover election in addition to the documents required under business visa regulations. Please note that engaging in any activity or work to monitor, observe or cover election in any other manner under tourist visa is a punishable offense under Immigration Law. Hence, Maldives Immigration will be implementing punitive measures for those who are found to be in violation of Immigration Act.

The application for business visa should be submitted as per the set rules and procedure in place.

We remind that the business visa applicant should arrive after the approval is granted. Those who arrive prior to issuance of approval will be rejected on arrival.

Kindly, note that deadline for applying for business visa is 15^th September 2018. Applications submitted after the deadline will be rejected.
