Background

The Ministry of Education introduced BTEC Vocational Education Stream in schools to ensure that students have as many opportunities as possible to pursue their passionate fields. To this end, BTEC Hospitality, Sports, Art and Design, Business, Travel and Tourism, Engineering, Information Technology, Construction and Applied Science have been introduced in schools from grade 9 - 12.

The most popular BTEC course across the country is BTEC Diploma in Hospitality (both at L3 and L4). Most secondary schools in the Maldives now offer this stream, and as the demand for this course increases every year, we believe we must comprehensively review our student guidelines, handbooks and policies. Furthermore, for teachers to nurture these young minds, we want to provide detailed guidelines of how to carry out the BTEC Hospitality program so that the course can be further improved.

Required Tasks

1. Create relevant policies and handbooks for students, parents, staff, and schools
2. Design teaching strategies and a comprehensive guided syllabus for BTEC Hospitality teams
3. Revise assignment briefs
4. Any administrative task involved with the aforementioned  tasks

Duration of contract

1 year

Required Competencies

• Individuals within team must hold a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
• Must have strong background in both English and Dhivehi
• Must have minimum 5 years of work experience within the education field and hospitality industry
• Familiarity with BTEC qualifications will be a strong plus but is not mandatory
• Must be able to work on a tight schedule and work well in a team

NORMAL WORKING HOURS

Full time: 8:00am – 2:00pm
