Development of Training Modules, Materials and Field Training; Organic Farming and Skill Development (Including Handicraft)

The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received grant funds from multi-donor Climate Change Trust Fund, administered by the World Bank, towards the cost of Climate Change Adaptation Project (CCAP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to eligible payments under the contract for Development of Training Modules, Materials and Field Training; Organic Farming and Skill Development (Including Handicraft) for existing farmers and interested individuals in Addu City and Gn.Fuvahmulah.

The main objective of the assignment is to provide the community with alternative livelihood options that are environmentally sustainable and show that these options are economically viable.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested firms should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: (i) Experience in carrying out organic farming/agricultural and skills development such as handicraft trainings; (ii) Experience of working with different community groups in a developing country; and (iii) Experience in Maldives will be an added advantage. 

The attention of interested firms is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants by World Bank Borrowers dated January 2011, Revised July 2014, setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Firms may associate with other firms in the form of a joint venture or a sub-consultancy to enhance their qualifications.

A firm will be selected in accordance with the QCBS selection method set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants by World Bank Borrowers dated January 2011, Revised July 2014.
