Project Coordinator (PC)

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) is implementing “Solid Waste Management System in Zone 1” financed by OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the selection of full time Project Coordinator (PC) for the Establishment of Regional Solid Waste Management System in Zone 1 administered by Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE).

The objective of this assignment is operational management of the projects in accordance with the project documents and as per the bank guidelines in collaboration with the project team and stakeholder agencies to ensure all implementation arrangements of projects are carried out smoothly and on time.

To be eligible for the position the individual is expected to demonstrate the following:

1. Should have a tertiary qualification in project management/environmental management/business management.
2. Having a waste management background would be an added advantage.
3. The person should also have a minimum of two years’ experience in project handling and monitoring.
4. Should have strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
5. Experience in donor assisted development projects will be an added advantage.
6. Knowledge and understanding of technical, commercial and legal aspects of procurement of donor - financed projects would be an added advantage.

The successful individual must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision and travel routinely to islands within the catchment.

In addition, the individual’s reputation of integrity and impartiality routed in independent from third parties shall be considered.

Successful individual will be paid an all-inclusive monthly fee in the range of MVR 25,000 to MVR 30,000 depending on their qualifications and experience.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit their CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, reference etc).
