Technical Assistance to Supervise the Civil Works of the Water and Sewerage Projects

Request for Expressions of Interest: National Consultant

The Government of the Republic of Maldives through the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEE) is implementing, provision of Water Supply and Sewerage Facilities in the Islands and is seeking the services of a qualified National Consultant to supervise the civil works of the water and sewerage projects. The EOI requested by Ministry’s Advertisement No. (IUL)438-PDU/1/2015/97 dated 10th August 2015 has been cancelled due to insufficient interests, thus Ministry re-invites interested parties to conduct this assignment.

The objective of this assignment is to provide technical assistance to supervise the civil works of the water and sewerage projects. 

To be eligible for the position the individual is expected to demonstrate the following:

a) Minimum Postgraduate Degree qualification in the disciplines of engineering and/or integrated water resource management, civil engineering, environmental engineering, water and sanitation.

b) At least 5 years’ experience in water supply ( focus on desalination schemes ) and sewerage design and rehabilitation

c) Have experience in management of water and sewerage projects.

d) Substantial, relevant and practical working experience, preferably in Small Island Developing States or in a similar geographic context in implementing water and sanitation programs and projects,

Should have strong leadership, management and communication skills in presenting, discussing and resolving difficult issues and have ability to work efficiently and effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

The successful individual must be willing to work for extended periods without direct supervision and travel routinely to islands within the catchment.

In addition, the individual’s reputation of integrity and impartiality routed in independent from third parties shall be considered.

The Ministry of Environment and Energy now invites interested eligible individual consultants to submit their CV, including information that demonstrates their qualification to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, familiarity with appropriate skills, reference etc). A Price Proposal indicating the breakdown of all costs associated to the assignment. The proposal should have a validity of at least 90 days period.

EOI should be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Energy address below. All submissions will be opened at the Ministry of Environment and Energy at 1400 hours on 16th September 2015 in the presence of representative of the bidders.
