Shariah Compliance Officer - Ayady Takaful

Position Type: Permanent (Initial contract shall be for a period of 1 (one) year. The contract shall be renewed as permanent based on performance upon successful completion of one year.)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree in Shariah or Shariah & Law or equivalent, which includes study in Usul Fiqh (Principle of Islamic Jurisprudence) and Fiqh Muamalat (Islamic transaction/ commercial law)
    OR
  • MQA level 6 (ie. Advanced Diploma, Associate degree, Professional certificate) in Shariah or Shariah & Law or equivalent, which includes study in Usul Fiqh (Principle of Islamic Jurisprudence) and Fiqh Muamalat (Islamic transaction/ commercial law) with Islamic Finance experience
  • Computer skills with knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Dhivehi and English
  • Able to work independently and adhere to tight reporting deadlines
  • Pleasant personality 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing operational and administrative support for the Shariah Committee, including effectively planning, coordinating, and organizing Shariah Committee meetings
  • Conduct quarterly Shariah Review, which covers the overall Ayady’s business operations, including the end-to-end product development process
  • Provide day to day advice on Shariah related matters based on the decisions and advice of Shariah Committee and rulings of Shariah Council of MMA
