Job Responsibilities
|
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with Company’s HSSEQ System for a given number of vessels
- To manage the daily operation of the vessels assigned to him in accordance with Company’s HSSEQ System
- Advise Masters and Chief Engineers on important matters
- Evaluate and monitor the required reporting from the vessels, act as required and inform other office sections and external bodies as is relevant
- Follow up class and statutory certification status, condition of class and arrange for the necessary surveys
- Arrange and follow up repairs and services
- Review monthly cost control and financial reports before sending to General Manager for approval
- Prepare input for the annual budgets for the vessels
- Prepare annual and quarterly management reports for the General Manager’s approval
- Coordinate with the assigned vessels and prepare the dry-docking specification for the General Manager’s approval, submit the specification to yards for quotations, evaluate the received quotations and present them to the General Manager
- Attend the dry-docking, discuss shipyard invoicing before presenting same to the General Manager for approval
- Prepare docking report
- Follow up purchasing, monitor the orders from the vessel ensuring that they submitted on a timely fashion
- Approve invoices for payment
- Liaise with the Insurance Manager in claims handling
- Part of Company’s emergency response team (for the vessels he is responsible for)
- Follow up reported deficiencies and non-conformities from vetting inspections, port state control, audits and flag state inspections and keep HSSEQ department advised of corrective action and closure

Required Qualifications
|
- Degree or diploma in maritime related field (Marine Engineering / Nautical Science / Marine Electric & Electrotic Engineering)
|
Preferred Requirements
|
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Computer literate and familiar with window applications eg. Word, spread sheet, power point etc.
- Medical report
- Police Report
- Age 25 – 55 Years
- Shipboard Experience as engineer or deck officer
- Shore base experience in vessel technical management
|
