Environment and Social Safeguards Specialist

Government of the Republic of Maldives has received grand funds from the World Bank, towards the cost Accelerating Renewable Energy Integration and Sustainable Energy (ARISE) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to eligible payments under the contract for the services of Environment and Social Safeguards Specialist for the Project Management Unit (PMU).

The Ministry invites interested eligible individuals to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI). Interested individuals must provide their CV with information demonstrating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.) covering the Key Qualifications.

The key qualifications are:

• Minimum a master’s degree in environmental management, Environmental Science, or related field and
• Minimum 7 (seven) year’s general experience with 3 (three) years’ specific experience in environmental management or related field.

             OR

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in environmental management, Environmental Science, or related field and
• Minimum 10 (ten) year’s general experience with minimum 5 (Five) years’ specific experience in environmental management or related field.

Successful candidate will be paid a monthly remuneration within the range of MVR 36,000/- to 43,700/- depending on qualification and experience. The individual for this position will be hired, initially for a period of Twelve (12) months on fulltime basis and may be extended for a further period, based on need and performance.

The Contractor will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in The World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers; Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services; July 2016; Revised November 2017 and August 2018.

Deadline
