The overall responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Support the Project Coordinator of MNU in operational management of the projects according to the Grant Agreement with the EU of the Projects to produce the envisaged outcomes, outputs and activities;
2. Ensure all implementation arrangements of project activities are carried out smoothly, in collaboration with the stakeholders from the public and private sector (especially governmental agencies and tourism industries) as well as civil society (e.g. consumers);
3. Identification and resolution of implementation problems, with the guidance of Research Development Office at MNU and the consortium partners;
4. Oversee the PROMISE project staff and their activities at MNU, including oversight of all staff outputs, quality assurance and supervision.
5. Reporting, communication and coordination of work between all consortium partners and the focal points at the European Delegation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Scope of Work
The work of the Project Manager will include the following tasks, among others:
1. Assume operational management of the projects in line with the EU Grant Agreement;
2. Ensure MNU project staff carry out tasks outlined in the EU Grant Agreement in a timely manner, conduct staff appraisal and provide feedback;
3. Liaise with stakeholders and other coordinators to ensure the timely implementation of project activities and relevant stakeholder activities and supervision activities according to the project documents;
4. Ensure the project is implemented in line with the government policies, partner organization standards, and the EU Grant Agreement;
5. Participate in document review, evaluation and other relevant activities that maybe implemented under the project as required;
6. Ensure coordination with the EU Delegation to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, the project consortium and relevant authorities of Government of Maldives as required;
7. Ensure all relevant information, documents, reports and evidence for financial and narrative reporting in line with the EU Grant Agreement are available for timely submission to the EU and appointed auditors.
8. Share and disseminate information about the project to generate visibility among stakeholders and the general public
9. Conduct awareness and information sessions to students, concerned people and the general public on prevention of marine litter
