The Government of the Republic of Maldives has received grant funds from the World Bank, towards the cost of Accelerating Renewable Energy Integration and Sustainable Energy (ARISE) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this grant to eligible payments under the contract for the services of an Electrical Engineer for the Project Management Unit (PMU).

The Ministry invites interested eligible Individuals to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI). Interested individuals must provide their CV with information demonstrating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills, etc.) covering the Key Qualifications.

The key qualifications are:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field applicable to the scope of work and minimum three (3) years of related work experience to the scope of work;

OR

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field applicable to the scope of work and minimum seven (7) years’ work experience with five (5) years of related work experience to the scope of work;

AND

  • Hold an Electrical Engineer license issued by Utility Regulatory Authority;
  • Work experience in donor-funded activities/projects, experience in similar assignments will be an added advantage;
  • Experience in renewable energy installations designs will be an added advantage; and
  • Qualification for MV system designs & installations (preferably with the MV category license) will be an added advantage.

Successful candidate will be paid a negotiable remuneration within the range of MVR 26,000.00 to MVR 36,000.00 depending on qualification and experience. The individual for this position will be hired, for a period of Twenty-Four (24) months on a time-based contract and may be extended for a further period, based on need and performance.

The Contractor will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in The World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers; Procurement in Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services; July 2016; Revised November 2017 and August 2018.
