Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) PLC, established in January 2004, is the only specialized housing finance institution in the Maldives. HDFC is a privatized company with International Shareholders represented by International Finance Corporation (IFC of World Bank Group), Asian Development Bank and HDFC Investments Ltd. of India, jointly holding 51% of shares.

HDFC has a vacancy for the right candidate who can provide support to the IT Team of the company in the capacity of an Assistant Software Developer.

Job Description

• Support inhouse applications development
• Study the relationship between banking/financial environments and software application systems.
• Work with both internal and external users and deliver timely components and application resolutions.
• Test applications in accordance with the standards.
• Write, revise, and maintain application documentation, operations documentation, and end-user guidelines.

    Job Requirements

• University Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or Information Technology or 3 years’ experience in an equivalent job in the same criteria
• Adequate programming background with knowledge in modular based programming and use of latest trends.
• Should be able to design, code and develop production level applications independently
• Should have knowledge and skills in .NET Technologies (preferably) or PHP along with API methodology.
• Understanding in web technologies including HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
• Should have knowledge of database management systems, either MSSQL Server and MySQL

Additional Advantages

• Good graphics skills and knowledge in user experience design.
• Knowledge in full software development cycle including project formulating, version control and maintenance after deployment.
• Software Engineering/Programming or IT Related Professional Certificates
• Excellent Knowledge of English both in the form communication and deliverables
• Good Project planning, management, and execution skills.

Salary:  Negotiable, commensurate with qualification and experience

Term of Contract: 12 months (Renewal subject to performance review)
